Therapist

REGISTERED PYSCHOTHERAPIST (QUALIFYING)

My name is Marina and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I am currently completing my Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, and have completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Guelph. Throughout my educational training, I have gained profound knowledge on the importance and benefits of psychotherapy, and have been equipped with tools that I have used to support my clients on their healing and wellness journey. Prior to becoming a therapist, I have worked as a cosmetician where I have used my platform to empower other women.

My passion is to support women from a range of different cultural backgrounds, and who have experienced trauma, domestic violence, relationship issues, depression, anxiety and low-self esteem. I aim to work with individuals in an empathetic, understanding and non-judgemental space where we can collaboratively work towards creating meaningful change and learn how to better manage life’s everyday stressors.

Approach to Therapy

I strive to work with clients using a personalized and relational approach by tailoring a treatment plan that assists my clients in moving them closer towards their therapeutic goals. I do this by using evidence-based therapeutic approaches that align with my clients’ individualized beliefs and values in a culturally sensitive manner and by fostering a therapeutic environment that exudes comfort, respect, safety and collaboration.

I utilize approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness to assist my clients in improving their overall well-being and feeling strengthened and supported on their journey. I offer psychotherapy services in both Arabic and English to better serve my clients.

"Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity. It is the source of hope, empathy, accountability, and authenticity. If we want greater clarity in our purpose or deeper and more meaningful spiritual lives, vulnerability is the path.”
