Lydia Nimbeshaho
My journey into psychotherapy is deeply rooted in my personal experiences and passion for helping others. At six, I witnessed the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, an event that took my parents and most of my family, leaving me and my siblings with profound trauma and loss. Growing up in orphanages and foster homes presented challenges far beyond typical childhood experiences. Yet, I found hope, resilience, and purpose. Migrating to Canada in 2010 marked a turning point that shaped my commitment to mental health advocacy and supporting others in their healing. I believe in the power of transformation and the human spirit’s ability to overcome even the toughest circumstances.
Approach to Therapy
As a bilingual therapist fluent in French and English, my approach is trauma-informed and person-centered. I offer culturally sensitive therapy, drawing on my Clinical Counselling background to blend psychoeducation on brain health with evidence-based, trauma-focused methods. I confidently utilize an integrative psychotherapy framework to provide comprehensive care, whether or not a faith-based focus is desired. I look forward to journeying alongside you through life’s challenges with empathy and compassion.
“Votre histoire est unique et je serais honorée de cheminer avec vous.”
